Gout in Teen

Gout in Teen

A gout attack can occur at any time of the day and in different parts of the body. Sometimes the pain is tolerable but usually, especially with gout in the toes, the pain is so severe that walking is no longer possible. Incidentally, the most severe stabbing pain often occurs in the ankles, toes, toes, fingers and wrist.

Symptoms of Gout in the Toes

The symptoms of gout in the Toes are:

    Extreme sensitivity of the toe
Intense pain that makes walking and standing up difficult. Even the pressure of a sheet or blanket can be too painful.
Swelling and inflammation of the toe, usually seen through red shiny skin
Flaking, itchy skin around and on the affected part of the toe
Rapid aggravation of the pain, usually at night and then taking a few days thereafter
    Fever, nausea and vomiting
Lumps: as a result of the accumulation of the crystallized uric acid, over time, under the skin near the relevant toe, so-called 'gout nodules' or 'Tophis' can develop. They are usually not painful but annoying and not so beautiful to see. Not all gout sufferers get such bumps but at the origin of a lump, he continues to grow and usually others join.
Many gout sufferers also suffer from kidney stones or renal insufficiency over time.

Cause of gout in the toes

The cause of gout is an accumulation of uric acid crystals, in this case in the toe. Uric acid circulates through the body via the bloodstream. To protect the body against acidification, the body converts these acids into crystals. The uric acid crystals are pH neutral but they settle between joints. Often in the toes, the reason for this is still unknown, but it is assumed that this happens to protect the heart. Because toes, but also toes and ears are the most distant from the heart.

Treatments of gout in toe

In case of a gout attack in the toe, it is important to stop putting pressure on the toes. So make sure you walk as little as possible and preferably place your toe on an elevation. The pain can be reduced with a wet cloth but take into account cold, this aggravates the inflammation. Taking a painkiller is allowed to relieve the pain.

After the pain draws away, it is important to move the toe again. If you do not do this, you will stiffen / cramp at the toe so that the symptoms can come back faster and more violently. So move the toe regularly, but make sure that there is not too much pressure on it.

Drink dehydrating water

Drink (alkaline) water, at least 1 to 2 liters per day. DO NOT drink alcohol and avoid foods rich in purine. This helps you to get rid of acid waste in your body more quickly.

Structural solution

Although some drugs can alleviate the direct attack by inhibiting inflammation, there is no drug that prevents a subsequent attack. However, there is a method to structurally discharge uric acid, which leads to an attack. This is called deacidifying the body.

De-acidification: Gout Structural Treatment

Nowadays it is possible to structurally counteract gout by deacidifying the body. For gout is namely acidification of the body. This means that the body can not adequately excrete the excess flow of waste acids in the blood, such as uric acid. As one gets older, more and more acid remains in the body. Gout is caused by chronic acidification. Nowadays there are good possibilities to rid the body of surplus uric acid / uric acid crystals so that gout is treated at the root. When successful deacidification, a lifelong course to the medicine cabinet can be avoided.

The cause: Acidification

After burning, stress, medicine and purine-rich food produce uric acid that your body needs to keep to keep the acidity (pH value) of the blood at a constant level. This may only be between pH 7.3 - 7.4. When the acidity in the blood goes outside these values, the body is in danger of life!

The body has two important ways to discharge or neutralize uric acid (buffering):

Urinary acids are filtered by the kidneys and then excreted via the urine.
Urine acids are buffered / neutralized by the substance sodium bicarbonate. Sodium bicarbonate is the most important basic buffer in the blood to keep the acid level constant.

But in people with gout, the amount of uric acid that is released in the blood is sometimes too large to be processed through the above mechanisms. The acidity of the kidneys is then too high, which can damage them. The body can also produce too little sodium bicarbonate to neutralize / buffer the excess uric acids.

The body then proceeds to other mechanisms to make the excess uric acid "harmless":

The body binds the excess uric acid in the kidneys with basic minerals such as calcium or magnesium. This binding creates "acid salts", which we also know as kidney stones. Kidney stones are therefore not the result of too much calcium, but because of the chronic acidification of the kidneys. When there is no free supply of calcium ions present, the body "locks" calcium from the bones, teeth, nails, skin and hair bottom to bind with excess uric acid. Acidification also leads to osteoporosis and other problems.
The body converts the liquid uric acid into a solid form by crystallization (uric acid crystals). A solid form has no influence on the acidity. Crystallisation is therefore a compensation mechanism to keep the acidity of the blood constant. When the crystals deposit on the joints gout can occur.

With these mechanisms the body ensures that the acidity in the blood remains constant, but the result is that this will eventually be at the expense of chronic disorders such as gout, kidney stones and bone loss.

The solution: De-acidification

The basic condition for a life without gout lies in restoring the acid balance in the body. By actively de-acidifying, the flow of surplus uric acid decreases and accumulated uric acid crystals in the joints are dissolved and discharged.

Active deacidification can be achieved by increasing your daily sodium bicarbonate levels in the body. Sodium bicarbonate is the basic buffer that neutralizes excess uric acid. By increasing this basic buffer daily, many more uric acid can be rendered harmless so that they do not crystallize. In addition, sodium bicarbonate has an active deacidifying effect by gradually dissolving and discharging already formed uric acid crystals in your joints.

De-acidification with basic drops

By adding basic drops to your drinking water, the PH value is increased to 9.5. This creates alkaline water. By drinking alkaline water, the acidity in the stomach is temporarily reduced. Our body corrects this quickly by making acid for the stomach again. At the same time, sodium bicarbonate is released into the blood via the gastric wall cells. The sodium bicarbonate will then neutralize uric acids.

De-acidification with coated basic tablets

Basic tablets with a gastric acid resistant coating contain sodium bicarbonate and dissolve in the intestines. The sodium bicarbonate is absorbed into the body via the intestinal wall and the uric acids are dissolved.

But watch out! It is not advisable to simply dissolve sodium bicarbonate powder in water and then drink it. The dissolved sodium bicarbonate then reacts with the stomach acid and is converted into carbon dioxide, (kitchen) salt and water. This gives you a bloated feeling and the blood pressure can rise due to the increased salt formation. The gastric acid-resistant coating that surrounds good alkaline tablets prevents the reaction of sodium bicarbonate with the stomach acid.

De-acidification with special deacidifying herbal teas

You can also deacidify by drinking acidic herbal tea. Important here is a large variety of herbs and the right herbal combination. Herbs contain energy-rich elements that are capable of decomposing "acid salts" after extraction. Specially deacidifying herbal tea also directly promotes the removal of uric acids via the urine, very good with gout.

De-acidification by taking drenched baths with basic bath salts

Acid wastes such as uric acid are largely drained through our largest organ, the skin. By taking deaerating baths (alkaline baths) you will stimulate the removal of acid waste from the inside out. Basic baths are very good for people with gout. Also in the case that uric acid crystals are expelled through the body in gout nodules, taking basic (foot) baths is very suitable to neutralize the acids.

By feeding your body daily with a large amount of basic nutrients, you protect it from acidification. Basic nutrients compensate for the daily flow of acidifying nutrients, maintaining the acid balance. Basic nutrients include vegetables, various fruits, germ grasses (barley grass, wheat grass), algae (chlorella, spirulina). In addition, additional nutritional complexes such as fibers, enzymes and probiotics are essential. They improve the acidity of the intestines and keep them up to standard.

Availability of deacidifying products

Body desensitisation has been used as therapy for several years. Nowadays, there are some companies that specialize in making deacidifying products such as alkaline drops, basic tablets, special deacidifying herbal teas, basic bath salts and basic food extracts. Acidifying products are available from professional drug stores, health shops, health food stores and a few pharmacies. In addition, you can now also find and order deacidifying products via the internet.

Do the online acidification test

Gout is caused by acidification. There are many factors that influence the chance of acidification. With this test you can easily see if you have an increased chance of acidification.
